An eclectic gathering of international and mountain fine artists and master crafters handcrafting ,iron works portrait paintings, glass blowers and demonstrations. An Evening with Garrison Keillor and Musical Guests

Description
In 1974, Garrison Keillor hosted the first broadcast of A Prairie Home Companion in St. Paul. The show ended in 1987, resumed in 1989 in New York as The American Radio Company, returned to Minnesota, and in 1993 resumed the name A Prairie Home Companion. Over 3 million listeners on more than 450 public radio stations now hear the show each week. In 1994, he was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame at Chicago's Museum of Broadcast Communications. This one-of-a-kind performance by Garrison Keillor will also feature some of the finest musicians of our region, performing works that reflect its character and cultural traditions.

58th Annual Grandfather Mountain Highland Games

Description Founded in 1956 by Agnes MacRae Morton and former Charlotte News reporter Donald MacDonald, GMHG carries on and promotes the annual Grandfather Mountain Highland Games and Gathering of Scottish Clans, to foster and restore interest in traditional dancing, piping, athletic achievement and Gaelic culture, and to create and establish scholarship funds to assist students from Avery County High School to study at American colleges and universities.
